Don't Worry by Nightly Gatherings | Editorial

In life, we all will have certain relationships that will stick with us forever. Rather it is our parents, families, best friends, etc. Some will stick with us forever, but some will decide to leave.

The most complex relationships can be loving relationships rather than a couple or marriage. However, they can either damage our emotions long term or short term.

I have had many relationships that have come and gone throughout my life, some damaging and some still going strong. Although I can't thank all of them for participating in my life, I am grateful for all of them.

Above all else, they mold us. All relationships we have in our lives will create who we are.

In Nightly Gatherings newest album, Don't Worry, he talks about relationships. But he is also indirectly telling a story about life.

It is beautiful.

Nightly Gatherings | About

Nightly Gatherings consists of producer, vocalist, and songwriter Connor Johnson. He has produced music for seven years but only started Nightly Gatherings during the pandemic. Connor is mainly influenced by musicians such as Porter Robinson, ODESZA, The 1975, Shallou, Madeon, and Bon Iver.

Nightly Gathering's newest album, "Don't Worry," was written and produced by Nightly Gatherings in his bedroom studio. The album is about his relationships with those close to him and how he perceives them.

Connor adds his album, "Don't Worry, is my most intimate work yet, from my inner voice to your ears." Each song is about a different person in his life, a unique approach he hasn't brought to any of his previous releases.

Nightly Gatherings | Achievements

Nightly Gatherings has opened for artists such as Alesso, Whethan, Gorgon City, Slow Magic, Forester, and Adventure Club. He's also gotten high praise from blogs and websites for his most recent works, notably from wewriteaboutmusic.com, findnoenemy.com, and more publications.

He has amassed over 1k monthly listeners on Spotify and over 3k Instagram followers. He constantly grows his audience and is an exciting upcoming music industry performer.

"From the mind of Connor Johnson comes the music of his moniker, Nightly Gatherings. Taking inspiration from Porter Robinson, Phoebe Bridgers, ODESZA, and so many more, any listener could easily pick something out from this stunner of a record to focus on and enjoy. We couldn’t help but fall in love with it and confidently think you will too. " wewriteaboutmusic.com

Nightly Gatherings | Background

Before starting his Nightly Gatherings project, he was a concert photographer. He even took the photo for Madeon's Good Faith Forever tour poster in 2021.

Connor is also a friend of the blog, supporting and contributing to the blog with whatever he can. We much appreciate this, and we are excited to follow his progress in the blog in the future.

Don't Worry | Instrumental Review

Connor continues to be the king of majestic trip-hop melodies. I can hear the Porter Robinson influences in these instrumentals; excellent how Connor did this. The vocal loops are slammed throughout these tracks but have yet to be overused. The tracks and everything have a transparent process at the end of each.

The instrumentals bring you into a relaxed trance -the EDM world that reminds me of Star Seed. "Still Friends" brings out the best beats, but any song on the album could be a hit. Hell, all of these tracks instrumentally hit differently. Especially after "Still Friends." Seeing these tracks played in a live venue would be an absolute pleasure.

I would love to hear your thoughts on the instrumental part of the album; please leave a like and comment below with your thoughts!

Don't Worry | Vocal Review

The best part of the vocals is the aesthetics part; they are different. Connor is vulnerable in these gorgeous lyrics, and I was looking forward to this part of the album. Autotune in music can be overdone, but Connor has mastered it to the point where it could sound better.

With that said, I will backtrack with what I just said. No doubt, I loved the vocals. But I would also like his lyrics to be more straightforward and to hear what he says. Also, I like the autotune, but sometimes they get lost in the tracks.

Tracks like "Still Friends" and "Love Me At My Lowest" have fantastic autotunes. But "Just to Feel" and "Just Be Happy" could have better autotunes. But, overall, the vocals fit this kind of new wave indie dance music.

I would love to hear your thoughts on the vocal part of the album, so please leave a like and comment below with your thoughts!

Don't Worry | Album Review

I have listened to this album about four times, and it has yet to get old. The vocals and instrumentals hit differently in a Shallou and Porter Robinson way.

I encourage the trip-hop and new-wave indie dance music that Connor is bringing to this project and would love to hear more. I love th

I find albums to have plots similar to stories. This album is a beautiful example of what I mean. The first couple of songs introduce the album's vibe, and then "Still Friends" is the peak. From there onwards, it starts to hit home, and you start to vibe with it. But then you are lightly brought to an end from "Oh Seabright" until you finally finish the album with "There's Always Afterwards."

I would love to hear your thoughts on the album overall, so please leave a like and comment below with your thoughts. I am looking forward to reading all your comments!
